Shawn Michael Rorie is an Emmy-nominated composer and prolific music producer with an extensive career spanning over 23,000 episodes of television. Renowned for his dynamic and genre-blending compositions, Shawn has contributed dozens of original themes and cues to some of the most recognizable TV shows of the past two decades.
Been there done that....
Shawn's musical journey began at age 12 when he picked up his first guitar—a moment he describes as "love at first strum." By 13, he was performing in San Francisco’s vibrant pop, goth, and rock club scene, often as the primary songwriter. This early immersion in live performance and songwriting set the foundation for his future endeavors.
At 20, Shawn relocated to Los Angeles, where he joined a band alongside one of the era's biggest musicians. This experience, though marked by the darker side of fame, propelled him to form his own bands and tour with prominent acts such as Foo Fighters, Radiohead, and Beck.
Seeking a new chapter, Shawn moved to Nashville, where he honed his songwriting craft. A pivotal moment came when a friend introduced him to the world of television music composition. Embracing this opportunity, he combined his rebellious San Francisco roots, industry experience from Los Angeles, and Nashville's songwriting influence to carve out a successful career in TV and film music.

Today, Shawn continues to collaborate with leading composers and music libraries, delivering high-quality compositions across various genres. His work reflects his unwavering commitment to authenticity and his belief in the power of music to tell compelling stories.
